Michelle Branch was born on July 2, 1983 in Flagstaff, Arizona. She moved to Sedona, Arizona at the age of three and began singing and playing piano at a young age. She started to write her own songs at the age of eleven and continued to pursue her passion for music. She was signed to Maverick Records in 2000 and released her debut album The Spirit Room the same year. The album was a huge success, spawning the hit singles “Everywhere” and “Goodbye to You”.
